Marcus Rashford and Rio Ferdinand react to England’s FIFA 18 World Cup stats… Kane and half of the England squad have been DOWNGRADED
- EA Sports have released England players’ stats for FIFA 18’s World Cup modes
- Ferdinand and Rashford have their say on Rashford and his England teammates
- Harry Kane is just one of the 15 England players who have received a downgrade
In the run up to the release of the FIFA 18 free World Cup mode update on May 29, EA Sports will be revealing the updated ratings of all the players.
This time it’s England’s turn but rather than just simply releasing all the cards at once, EA have also brought in England international Marcus Rashford and former international Rio Ferdinand to react to the ratings.
Rashford was fairly modest but still thinks he deserved a few upgrades. However, after looking at some of his teammates he should be thankful that he wasn’t downgraded.
Ferdinand and Rashford had their say on the England players’ FIFA 18 World Cup ratings
Most people would be delighted to have 92 pace on the game but the Manchester United forward reckons he still should have more. He revealed that he’s been working with a sprint coach and has been getting quicker everyday.

On top of that, Rashford was gutted with his defensive rating of 39, so much so that he even crossed that stat out. He went on to say how he tracks back a lot and works hard defensively before giving himself a 60.
As for his teammates, he claimed his friend Jesse Lingard is much quicker than people expect but also joked that his Manchester teammate deserves a 0 in physicality.
Still, those two got off gently compared to most of the squad. Over half of England’s players have been downgraded. The mode takes international form into consideration – we all know how England perform internationally so the decision is understandable but still seems fairly harsh.
Harry Kane is the highest rated player at 87 but that is still a downgrade from his normal 88. His Spurs teammate, Dele Alli, also had his overall lowered from 84 to 83.
However, it was a Tottenham player who received the only upgrade of England players – Kieran Trippier. The right-back has shone since Walker left and EA have rewarded him by bumping his 78 overall to 80.
