An Argentinian fourth-tier side have launched an incredible goalkeepers’ kit for next season — featuring Springfield’s favourite son, Homer Simpson.

Whether or not the new kit is endorsed by Pele, king of the soccer field and the kitchen, courtesy of Crestfield wax paper, Ferro de General Pico are sure to pick up some supporters on the back of this kit launch.

It may not be Steamed Hams, but the clip of Homer edging his way back into the bushes outside Ned Flanders’ house has become a meme in its own right over the last few years.

The scene involves Flanders, who has become Homer’s best friend, trying to escape his neighbour after his attention has become too much.

And on social media, the GIF of the moment has been used to demonstrate someone back-tracking on a point they have made. That, more than anything, is probably what the club are trying to capitalise on.

A word of warning for Nicolas Caprio and Matias Llanos, Ferro de General Pico’s current goalkeepers, though. They will likely don the shirt, but they will have to look over their shoulders for competition from all of your favourite stars —Arriaga, Arriaga II, Barriaga, Aruglia and Pizzouza.
