Sadio Mane has revealed how Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher inspired his stunning hat-trick against Porto on Wednesday night.
Afterwards Mane revealed the half-time pep talk he received from Carragher, who was covering the last-16 first leg for Norwegian channel Viasport.

‘He’s my good friend,’ he told presenter Jan-Aage Fjortoft.
‘At half-time he told me to score more goals. I tried and, as a team, luckily I got three goals today and I’m happy.
Mane thanked his team-mates after he became only second player to net a treble away from home in Europe, following Michael Owen who scored hat-tricks at Haka in 2001 and Spartak Moscow in 2002.

‘I used to be a left-winger, most of my career I played as a right winger,’ he added.
‘For me, to both sides I can play and play for the team. I will play wherever they ask me to play.
‘All the time people say, three, but I think it is all the team. They make it easy for us.’
