Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher ends retirement

Nearly six months after announcing his retirement, Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher will be returning to the Nashville Predators.

And the country star was through the moon as she helped spread the news on Twitter on Wednesday.   

‘This is happening! Fish is back! So proud of you, baby! We want the cup!!!’ Carrie, 34, tweeted.

After seven years playing for the Nashville Predators, Mike, 37, retired from playing for the hockey team in August 2017.   

He joined the team in 2010, and eventually became it’s captain.  

Carrie wrote a gushing heartfelt message in honor of her husband after he announced plans to leave the team at the time of his departure. 

‘Captain @mfisher1212 I sure am going to miss watching you play and cheering you on with the rest of Smashville, but I so look forward to seeing what God has in store for you in this next chapter of your life.

Mike has also previously played for the Peterborough Bees, Sudbury Wolves, and Ottawa Senators. 

The hockey player plans to sign a contract and return to the Predators before the NHL trade deadline on February 26. 

Mike said to reporters on Wednesday Carrie encouraged him to return to the team.

‘Carrie asked me every few days if I was going to do it. She wanted me to do it. And she’s usually right,’ he said.
